4. Send your new subscribers the download page address by email from your autoresponder, even if they already went straight there after they confirmed. Then they have another chance to buy your paid product.
5. Continue sending further emails in your autoresponder, giving them either extra information or free bonus gifts.
6. After that, you can start promoting your more expensive products (or affiliate products). Remember that the free gift should attract subscribers who will be interested in your later promotions, so your free gift should be related in some way.
7. Keep promoting the giveaway. If you do not yet have your own list, there are many free methods such as safelists. Do something every day. This will increase your points so your gift is shown higher on the list where more people will see it.
8. If you are offered an upgrade for contributors where you have the chance to buy your gift a higher ranking, I recommend you take it. it pays well.
Last but not least, keep watching the site statistics. Is your free gift getting as many subscribers as the others on the same page? How is your upsell making sales? Are your subscribers unsubscribing right away, and if so, why? There are man things you can alter to improve your conversion rate.
